3D HOMES OF COBBLE HILL

As New York City faces a major housing crisis, neighborhoods such as Cobble Hill can be looked at as opportunities for new housing. By taking a two block radius everything from construction method to physically new units can be affordable and carbon friendly. By 3D printing new units and leveling three story buildings with existing four story buildings, over 200 units can be created along with new roof top public space, use of recycled plastic from local center such as Red Hook Recycling Center, and even new gardening opportunities come about. Through design research the carbon emissions, housing crisis and 3D printing technology was studied and embodied through the construction and final product.
